Pickle Tradition
Christmas Traditions can help set the tone of a magical childhood but you don’t have to be a child or have kids to make traditions. Check out my #Tuesdaytips video above featuring some of our families favorite traditions. This vintage pickle German tradition can have lots of iterations. We like to hide our pickle like this but it’s also a great hostess gift and and if using it for that purpose, I would recommend this Pickle Ornament because it comes in a lovely box (with a slightly different tradition listed).
Advent Book Tradition
I’m thankful to my sister in law Teri for her recommended this book Jotham of Jericho it is a book that is broken up into days of the Christmas Advent told from a child’s perspective. Of course there’s some fiction mixed in with the Biblical Truth to set the story stage but it’s incredibly well done and super engaging for all ages (even adults!) My one special note is that I recommend you start early because it takes awhile and some extra days to read if you have a busy month of December!). There are other books in the series including Tabitha’s Travels and Bartholomew’s Passage and Ishtar’s Odyssey Each book is the same story told from each child’s perspective as unique circumstances intertwine with not only Jesus story but each others as well!
Advent Candle Decor
Here is the Crown I used on my Advent Candle Display. Check out your local Hobby Lobby for other fun accessories! I typically shop after the holidays for clearance items so my items are from years past although they often carry similar classics!
